Alice Eve To Join ‘Star Trek 2′

Alice Eve is getting her sci-fi roots down in the next year, as she’ll be playing the younger version of Emma Thompson’s character in Men in Black III. But, she’s about to boldly go somewhere she’s never been before: the final frontier.

Variety is exclusively reporting that J.J. Abrams has hired Alice Eve to join the cast of Star Trek 2 in an all new role that has never been introduced into the canon of Trek before. The site reports that both Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) and Hayley Atwell (Captain America) both auditioned, but Eve effectively won the role.

However, no deal is yet in place for the starlet to join the cast, and Paramount has declined to comment on Variety’s reveal. They say that the deal is to begin negotiations soon, and that, just like Benicio del Toro, she’s expected to be a part of the sequel no problem.

It’s also said that Abrams is looking for another villain, an older actor or actress to support Del Toro’s antagonist.

The film will also star most of the original cast, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and more. Set to begin filming next month, Star Trek 2 will be released in theaters on May 17th, 2013.
