This week on “Chuck” entitled “Chuck vs. Bo”, Sarah wants to leave the spy world, Team Bartowski has one last mission to Vail, Morgan and Bo Derek had a history with rainbows and Jeff and Lester figure out Team Bartowski’s secret.
I was surprise to see how terrific Bo Derek was in this episode with her scenes with Morgan. It was a nice little twist that Bo was a agent and trying to get the Intersect glasses back from Morgan by recreating those beautiful “rainbows“ they made when Bo and Intersect Morgan first met. However, the team figures out her plan from Morgan’s “Don’t Trust Bo Derek” tattoo underneath his bottom lip. I also want to mention that I enjoyed Sarah poking some fun at Chuck over his childhood crush (Bo Derek).
This week, you saw Team Bartowski’s last villain of the series, Nicholas Quinn played by Angus Macfadyen (“Braveheart”). From what we saw from his scenes, Quinn has that threatening presence bent on having the Intersect glasses since the original Intersect was intended for him. Quinn is another former agent that has ties with Bryce Larkin, which I’m glad they finally mention Larkin since they didn’t do it in Sarah’s backstory episode, “Chuck vs. the Baby”. With the remaining episodes left in the series, I’m looking forward to seeing how much of a threat Quinn will pose to Team Bartowski.
I had a laugh when Casey mutter the words, “I hate Twitter” since Adam Baldwin is very involved with the social network.
Last week, I mention that the writers should let Jeff and Lester in on the secret of Team Bartowski being spies. However, I wasn’t surprise and was satisfy by how they wrote Jeffster’s storyline in this episode. At first, I got kind of concern because in the beginning Team Bartowski continuously pulled a stunt of wiping Jeffster’s mind and staging a car accident at the desert where they were inside the car and were supposedly heading to Las Vegas. However, Jeff wrote some details on his arm to remember what previously happen to them before their minds were wipe. At the end, Jeff and Morgan figure out the secret and saw how dangerous it was of knowing the truth about their friends being spies that they asked them to wipe their minds again because they want to forget what they just saw of them being shot by Quinn and his men at the Vail Buy More. I do admit that it felt kind of a copout when Jeffster woke up again at the car accident that Jeff look at his arm to see “They are ’not’ spies” was written and decided that they were done with their investigation and headed to Las Vegas with Big Mike. With that being said, I think it was the right move because they aren’t spies and could really put themselves and Team Bartowski in danger with the knowledge of the team being spies. I do want to mention that I laugh when I saw Lester wearing the deadlocked ski cap.
I must admit that I was sad to hear Team Bartowski planning to get rid of the “creepy cousin” a.k.a the Buy More due to Carmichael Industries switching their business from a spy firm to a cyber-terrorism firm. It will be interesting to see if they follow through with this plan, what will happen to the Buy More employees like Jeff, Lester, Big Mike and (maybe) Morgan.
The “cliffhanger” at the end was after Chuck was kidnapped by Quinn that Sarah and Casey went to the docks to trade the Intersect glasses for Chuck. However, it was a trap and Sarah and Casey were pinned down by Quinn’s men. Sarah had no choice but to put on the Intersect glasses to become Inter-Sarah and saved Casey and herself by superhumanly taking down all of Quinn’s men. My first thought after seeing Sarah having the Intersect was if there was enough time for Casey to have the Intersect before the series ends because it will be unfair for every member of Team Bartowski to have used the Intersect but him. With that being said, it was awesome seeing Inter-Sarah kicking butt into high gear. Looking at next week’s promo, it will be interesting to see how having the Intersect will affect Sarah’s mind and her relationship with Chuck since Sarah knew that Chuck was a little jealous when Morgan had the Intersect. Will Sarah think that her husband is jealous when Chuck begs Inter-Sarah to remove it or will she listen to Chuck‘s concern and remove it quickly? I’m thinking Sarah will have a little fun with it before she removes it.
Overall, I thought the episode was a lot fun from Bo Derek’s appearance, Casey’s one-liners, Sarah teasing Chuck and Jeffster figuring out Team Bartowski’s secret before begging the team to remove it out of their minds. In addition, it had an interesting twist at the end with Sarah having the Intersect inside of her. Let us hope that Sarah doesn’t have any frosted tips like Morgan.
