Tonight, another ending in the anthological drama series comes to a close as American Horror Story: Asylum airs its season finale and hopefully ends everything on a high note. But as its been hinted to play close attention for clues as to where our next tale of horror will be headed, there are still plenty of mysteries regarding who will be coming back as the series hits the restart button once more.

Though three actors have already been confirmed to continue their streak as prominent players alive for the third year in a row, now it seems like Tate and Violet are set to reunite as one familiar face not seen since the first season is set to be back for wherever the pop culture hit is headed.

EW reports that Taissa Farmiga is in talks to join American Horror Story Season 3 as one of the lead characters of the new installment. If successful, Farmiga will join for her second season in three years and will join a cast that currently includes Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

Ryan Murphy explains the casting and why she didn’t return for the new year, “I missed her this season. There wasn’t really a role for her. I feel very protective of her and I didn’t want her to go back into the loony bin—it was too dark. So I thought well ‘I want Taissa to be one of the leads next year.’ I called her up and pitched her the character for the season and she loved it and she said, ‘Yes let’s do it.’ So we’re in negotiations for her to headline season 3.”

Murphy says he missed the romance of Season 1 and wants to entangle Farmiga’s character within one that has yet to be unveiled. Plot details, however, are currently being kept under locks. The most we know thus far is that Lange’s character is described as “a glamour cat leading lady” who’s storyline this season will consist of “something funnier”, citing that Murphy missed the devilish laughs Lange’s Constance delivered as compared to Sister Jude.

In the time off from American Horror Story, Farmiga filmed one of five main roles in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring which has been recently announced for a June release and co-stars Emma Watson.

American Horror Story Season 3 will film in three different cities, with locations that have yet to be revealed, for an October premiere.
