While the first trailer definitely provided a Drive vibe, we still have a couple major holidays before Jack Reacher explodes onto screens this Christmas. As a possible new franchise for Tom Cruise, the literary characters finally comes to life with a take on the hit novel One Shot in the upcoming action thriller. Today, Paramount has decided to release the full length trailer from the film to give us a very different tone than the first glimpse did this past summer, but this new look gives us some interesting story moments, a few more moments of action and even a couple laughs.

Directed and co-written by Chris McQuarrie, Jack Reacher follows Tom Cruise’s titular character who is a “hulking loner who hitchhikes from town to town, always finding himself smack in a situation where a helpless person needs someone who can put the clues together, and lay an ass whooping on anybody who gets in his way.” When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

Co-starring main villain Werner Herzog, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Michael Raymond-James and Robert Duvall, Jack Reacher is set for release on December 21st.
