The live-action DC Universe certainly looks bright for the time being as the series premiere of Arrow managed to be the highest rated series premiere for The CW since the hit dramaThe Vampire Diaries. While the weeks ahead will certainly determine Oliver Queen’s tenure in Starling City, the season ahead has already been revealed to be filled with a number of tie-ins to the comic book series with a great line-up of comic book characters set to take on The Emerald Archer. Now, not only do we have our first glimpse of John Barrowman’s mystery role and The Royal Flush Gang but also a major look at who is certainly a big character to come: Deathstroke.
IGN debuted the image of Deathstroke above, which doesn’t feature too much of a departed look from the comic. Played by actor Jeffrey Robinson, the character will be appearing in the fifth episode of the series’ first season “Damaged” set to air next month.
We know that flashbacks will be a heavy part of the show to unveil the five years on the island where Oliver remained stranded that currently remain cloudy, but one of the first shots of the pilot happened to be the mask of Deathstroke mounted to a piece of bark with an arrow struck through. What exactly is Oliver’s relationship with the villain? And could Deathstroke be popping up outside of flashbacks?
And if a photo simply wasn’t enough for you check out Deathstroke and Oliver meeting face to face in this sizzle reel straight from NYCC, giving us plenty of new looks at what’s ahead:
Arrow airs every Wednesday at 8PM on The CW.
