Writer, director and voice actor Chris Sanders has been responsible for two major franchises in the past decade as the creative mind not only launched Lilo & Stitch back in 2002 but one of Dreamworks Animation’s biggest success with How To Train Your Dragon. Though he won’t be returning for the second or third installments of the series, Sanders is still staying under the company as he has transitioned to his next project: The Croods.
Co-directed with Kirk De Micco (Space Chimps), the caveman adventure has quite the impressive cast behind it. Now, Dreamworks has unveiled the first full-length trailer for the film which tends to have a strong family element with tones of this year’s earlier animated hit Brave.
The Croods is a comedy adventure that takes us back to a previously undiscovered era in the history of our planet known as the Croodaceous, when nature was still a work-in-progress… full of never-before- seen creatures and landscapes. Audiences will relate to the hilarious family antics as an imaginative and resourceful newcomer helps the Croods navigate their way through the fantastic world beyond their cave.
Featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman, The Croods is set to hit theaters on March 22nd, 2013.
