After a production wrap and plenty of photos and, Walt Disney Picture’s big bet on the western adventure The Lone Ranger from director Gore Verbinski is certainly getting quite the publicity. With talk of budget concerns while ultimately being pushed for Fourth of July weekend, today we get to see those efforts unfold in the teaser trailer for the film. Though it doesn’t reveal much, we get to see exactly why Verbinski pushed for the large set pieces as we have a number of train stunts, gun shooting, action-packed moments and surprisingly not that much Johnny Depp for this first time out.
The Lone Ranger is a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
Starring Depp, Hammer, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, James Badge Dale, and more, The Lone Rangerhits theaters on July 3rd, 2013.
