First Red Band Trailer for ‘Evil Dead’ Brings Buckets of Blood

One of the most talked about premieres to come out of NYCC this year happened to be the first trailer that debuted for the panel of the upcoming horror remake Evil Dead. A cult smash for decades now and in the producing hands of original director Sam Raimi and star Bruce Campbell, the trailer’s unveiling brought forth a standing ovation from fans while even scaring main actress in attendance Jane Levy who had not yet seen footage from the film thus far. Though we still have six months until we enter that cabin in the woods once more, today that wait narrows just a bit more as the red band trailer for the film hits filled with plenty of blood, gore, demons and horror in what promises to be a faithful redux.

In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

Evil Dead, starring Jane Levy, Lou Taylor Pucci, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas and more hits theaters on April 12th, 2013.
