Coming out of NYCC this weekend, Warner Home Video announced it’s slate of 2013 DC Animated titles that actually seemed quite impressive. While we’ll have to wait until late next year for the next Justice League feature based off of theFlashpoint arc, the films will be taking a family friendly approach this coming Spring with LEGO Batman: The Movie. Said to have shown a trailer at the panel just a few days ago, the feature promised to be the funniest installment in the DC library to date.
Now we get to see our first glimpse at what’s to come as the first trailer for the film has hit today and showcases ultimately just what feels like cutscenes straight from the video game.
Though the voice cast has yet to be revealed, most of the actors sound like they are reprising their roles from LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. Though Kevin Conroy, Tim Daly and other fan-favorite actors appear to be absent, Clancy Brown is back once again to voice the villainous Lex Luthor while Batman certainly sounds to have a bit of a Val Kilmer vibe going.
No release date has yet been set for LEGO Batman: The Movie, but we’ll keep you posted.
