It’s clear that at two and a half hours long, FOX’s Animation Domination Sundays cannot be contained after a string of hits that have become pop culture icons. That’s why this past summer, FOX decided to tackle an Adult Swim format that could breathe life back into their Saturday night line-up with ADHD (Animation Domination High Definition). Leading the charge is popular web comic come to fully blown animated life Axe Copwhich won’t debut until Summer 2013. But today we get the first glimpse at what’s to come along with the confirmation on who will be voicing the titular main character in a hilarious Halloween-themed clip.

The comic’s origins revolve around brothers Malachai and Ethan Nicolle who create the series: Malachai being 5 year old and Ethan being 30. Ethan illustrates the ongoing saga of the tale his brother created regarding the overarching story, and the clip certainly seems to stick to that same basic premise. Though the dialogue certainly sounds straight from Malachai’s mouth, it’s the reveal that Nick Offerman will be voicing the badass lead that certainly adds a more serious voice to the hilarious whimsical lines.

Though the animation easily adds a few jokes of itself, the first impression certainly manages to feel very much like an Adult Swim joint that personally I’m excited to see more of. With an offbeat feel, it should be interesting to see how exactly Axe Cop is received when it premiere on ADHD later next year.
