Trailer for ‘Monsters Inc.’ 3D Re-Release

With Finding Nemo hitting theaters once more with a 3D re-release next Friday, it certainly seems like the Pixar classic that has captured hearts before is ready to make yet another successful box office run. But what lies after Marlin and Dory’s epic adventure is yet another Pixar feature returning to the big screen with an additional dimension.

In order to prep audiences for next summer’s prequel Monsters University, Disney and Pixar are hoping to ring in the Holidays with a green Christmas as Monsters Inc. returns in 3D as well. Now set to be attached to the Finding Nemo return, the first trailer for Monsters Inc.‘s upcoming run into theaters has hit today reminding us just why we love the buddy comedy.

Directed by Pete Docter, Monsters Inc. was originally released in 2001 and went on to gross over $500 million at the worldwide box office. It was one of the first ever animated films to be nominated in the Oscar category for Best Animated Feature and even won an Academy Award for Best Original Song thanks to Randy Newman’s “If I Didn’t Have You”.

You can see the original in 3D starting December 17th, whileMonsters University will hit theaters on June 21st, 2013.
