As The CW’s Arrow is just under two weeks away from its buzzed-about premiere, the origins concept of the titular hero has been one that many comics fans have called back to thanks to the limited series Green Arrow: Year One. Much like the new series, the story follows Oliver Queen finding himself crashed on a deserted island while facing off against a villainous dictator in the form of China White. While it’s unclear just how much the television show will follow this storyline, White will still be making a splash in the first season of the new series as Kelly Hu will portray the antagonist. Now, we get our first look at Hu as the debut photos of her arrival toArrow has been unveiled.

Zap2It premiered the first photos of White facing off against a hooded Stephen Amell in an undetermined location as China takes a firm stance to face off against Starling City’s new vigilante. What remains incredible uncertain is whether or not the two have some history together after Oliver’s extended stay on the island, though given that this is a different variation of the comics character, everything is up in the air.

Of course this won’t be the only time we see Hu as China White; the actress has signed on for a multiple episode arc while previously announced villains have been revealed to possibly recur throughout Season 1. Hu will first appear in Episode 2, when “Oliver (Amell) has to go to the courthouse to get his death certificate repealed. There, he finds former love Laurel (Katie Cassidy), who is prosecuting Martin Somers, a criminal with ties to the Chinese Triad”.

Arrow premieres Wednesday October 10th at 8PM.
