After a fast summer of development, Roland Emmerich’s next action feature White House Down is already filming in Montreal as Channing Tatum gets to wield a gun once more as he protects the POTUS (Jamie Foxx). With an impressive cast and a summer release set, the feature is set to be a potential hit but there is still plenty of time for us to see exactly what’s to come in the nine months until it hits the big screen. Today, though, it seems we’ll get our very first look at White House Down as Entertainment Tonight has traveled to the set to deliver a glimpse inside what’s to come, and it seems the leader of the free world isn’t exactly going to be taking this one lying down either.
(Via The Film Stage):
In the film, Tatum plays a Secret Service Agent and devoted father who has a tough day at work when a group of villains (led by Jason Clarke) invade the White House in the attempt to take down the President. Tatum is tasked with protecting the leader while thrust into what is being described as a Die Hard-like situation. From the footage shown above, it seems that Foxx’s President won’t just be hiding in a panic room for the duration of the movie. Shown with his own weapon and right by Tatum’s side, there seems to be a decent chance that there will be plenty of team action from the duo.
Penned by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) and co-starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Joey King, Lance Reddick, James Woods, Richard Jenkins and more, White House Down is set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.
