The cast of Roland Emmerich’s upcoming action thriller White House Down has already proved to be quite the list of big names and it seems like the feature set for next summer may be quite the spectacle to watch. There’s already a basic feel for the premise at hand but we’re not quite sure who will be fueling the antagonistic events of the film just yet against President Jamie Foxx. Now, it seems two television stars are headed for the big screen as one star of The Chicago Code takes the first villain spot, while a Fringe star starts his post-series life on the big screen.

First up, Jason Clarke has joined White House Down as an unnamed terrorist who will be working against heroes and Secret Service agents Channing Tatum, Maggie Gyllenhaal and more. It’s say he’ll play leader to a group that will attempt to seize 1600 Penn, thus kicking off the true plot of the film. That being said, there could be some big names that join this renegade band of mercenaries if Clarke is simply the leader. Then again, there’s also the chance that the gang could consist of unknown actors in order to up the body count when Tatum decided to take his place of work back. Clarke will be seen later this month in Lawless, and in the Hurt Locker follow-up Zero Dark Thirty later this year.

Meanwhile, Lance Reddick has signed on to star in the film as a military man opposite Richard Jenkins. While Jenkins will be playing the Speaker of the House, Reddick will be playing his handle Colonel Janowitz. It’s unclear how large Reddick’s on-screen presence will be, but White House Down will certainly be a major notch in his career belt.

Reddick’s last high profile summer feature of this magnitude was the huge DC Comics bomb Jonah Hex and after some successful turns on television, Reddick is hoping to make a name for himself in theaters. The actor has also been seen onThe Wire, Lost and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, while he’s taken to small-screen superhero ventures with a voice role as Falcon in Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and an upcoming voice role in the new DC television series Beware the Batman.

Starring Tatum, Gyllenhaal, Foxx, Jenkins, James Woods, Joey King and more, the film was penned by James Vanderbilt with Sony wanting to make the feature one of their tentpoles for next summer. If everything works out right, filming is looking to start later this month in Montreal.
