For awhile now, we’ve told you about the upcoming comedyThe Internship that will reunite Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn for the first time since their comedy smash hit Wedding Crashers. The movie has entered filming for the past month, and so far things have been looking great as the cast has expanded to include some pretty intriguing names to join alongside the returning duo. Now, however, it seems one more actor is ready to reunite with the duo yet again as the man responsible for one of the surprise moments near the end ofWedding Crashers is looking to pop his head up yet again in next summer’s comedy.
Variety reports that Will Ferrell has signed on in a cameo appearance that will see him back on screen with Vaughn and Wilson in The Internship. In the film, Ferrell will play the brother-in-law of Wilson’s character “who sells home electronics and has no problem making inappropriate comments about his attractive customers”. This would be Ferrell’s third cameo in a film with Wilson after an uncredited appearance in Wedding Crashers and a brief amount of screen time in Starsky & Hutch.
The story of the film revolves around Vaughn and Wilson playing old school salesmen who are great at their job, but are cut from their company when they are both laid off in a move of corporate downsizing. They convince themselves their careers may have gone in a wrong direction at one point, so they decide to start anew in the tech-savvy era as interns at a massive tech company.
It’s there where the two older men find themselves competing for a spot among young twenty-somethings. The cast that will be joining the lead stars include JoAnna Garcia, Rose Byrne, Thomas Lennon, B.J. Novak, John Goodman, Eric Andre, Dylan O’Brien.
The Internship, directed by Shawn Levy and co-written by Vaughn, is currently set to hit theaters on June 28th, 2013.
