When the first teaser video for the upcoming second season ofAmerican Horror Story hit Friday, we had a small glimpse of what’s to come but nothing concrete other than to send the fanbase into speculation mode. A simple shot with not too much to reveal just yet, we were able to spot a nun of what was presumed to be Jessica Lange’s main character for the next installment in the anthological series. Now, co-creator Ryan Murphy has decided to please fans yet again with a second teaser promo today and while we continue the theme of nuns, this one adds a much creepier vibe to the entire ordeal.
So who exactly is this new mystery nun? It seems that’s what’s left for us to find out. We see what appears to be a nun in prayer or simply solitude near the back while the coat hung up on the wall suddenly springs to life from a limp jacket to one pinned against the interior. What could this all mean? Well…your guess is as good as ours. But given the fact the new teaser is called “Blue Coat”, it certainly seems like that piece of material holds some sort of significance.
Set in 1964, the new episodes will feature Lange, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Adam Levine, James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Chloe Sevigny and more. The setting this time around will be an East Coast institution for the criminally insane, with Lange’s lead character being both a nun and a prominent member among the staff. Fiennes will be playing the head of the facility, with Cromwell also joining the working staff while the rest of the characters will be playing inmates.
American Horror Story: Asylum is set to premiere sometime in mid-October.
