First Promo for ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ Gives Us First Glimpse At New Season

Since his debut on Twitter, Ryan Murphy has been the source for debuting the first looks of Glee thus far and has promised plenty of exclusive content to come. But one of his most anticipated teasers to come remains for the hit American Horror Story: Asylum. After a buzzed-about run late last year, the supernatural tale has been kept under wraps for the most part regarding the upcoming slate of new episodes, though we know plenty of specific details. Now Murphy has treated fans to another exclusive yet again as he has debuted the first promo for Season 2, hinting at what seems to be Jessica Lange’s character.

The post with the trailer says that the unseen character is “dropping more than just hints”. While we know that the mysterious “Bloody Face” will be this year’s Rubber Man, it’s unclear just how the character will play a part among the asylum. Perhaps Lange’s character has to keep the possible antagonist in check somehow…

Set in 1964, the new episodes will feature Lange, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Adam Levine, James Cromwell, Joseph Fiennes, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Chloe Sevigny and more. The setting this time around will be an East Coast institution for the criminally insane, with Lange’s lead character being both a nun and a prominent member among the staff. Fiennes will be playing the head of the facility, with Cromwell also joining the working staff while the rest of the characters will be playing inmates.

Currently, the season is set to premiere sometime in mid-October.
