It’s been six long years since the gaming franchise Silent Hillcame to the big screen, and the film was received with plenty of mixed results. What had hopefully been a full out series simply turned into a one-off film that has gained a decent number of fans over the years, with the first installment being successful enough to at least intrigue Hollywood about a sequel. Now that sequel is finally coming to life with a few familiar faces, and even features a mini-Game of Thronesreunion. Today, the first trailer for the 3D horror installment has been released and actually adds plenty of psychological drama.
Taking place after the original film from six years ago,Revelation revolves around Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) and her father, Christopher Da Silva (Sean Bean), who have been evading for years forces of a nature that she does not fully recognize. On the eve of her eighteenth birthday, plagued by nightmares and Christopher’s disappearance, she discovers that her presumed identity is false and her life’s origins too.
This revelation leads her to an alternate dimension existing in Silent Hill, over which a cult led by Claudia Wolf (Carrie-Anne Moss) and the insane Leonard Wolf (Malcolm McDowell) holds power. Heather is accompanied by a man named Vincent (Kit Harington), a man named Harry, and Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell).
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D will be released on October 26th.
