With Matt Davis taking his talents over to Cult, the fourth season of The CW’s supernatural hit drama The Vampire Diarieswill be lacking a vampire hunter among all of the vampires, werewolves, and everything in between. Though the high school characters will be venturing forth, what’s unclear is just who will be coming to Mystic Falls to stir up even more trouble. Now with The CW on display at San Diego Comic-Con, it seems it’s time to bring an all-new character into the cast as the latest addition to fuel some storylines.
EW reports that Todd Williams (In Plain Sight, The Chicago Code) has joined The Vampire Diaries Season 4 in a recurring role named Connor. First appearing in the second episode, Connor will be an all-new vampire hunter who will be a large and lethal threat to the town and its residents as the season continues. Some are going as far as to claim Connor will be the “big bad” of the new season, but it’s unclear just how long Williams will be sticking around.
The Vampire Diaries is set to return on October 11th, later than usual due to The CW’s new desire to decrease repeats. This later premiere will hope to get rid of the usual large holiday gaps in their schedules that always appear around Thanksgiving and March, and this will be the first year that the network has chosen to delay the shows by nearly a month.
