Saturday is going to be a gigantic one for Marvel, in terms of both film and comics. Along with a television panel, video games panel, and even a panel that will likely detail just what fallout Avengers vs. X-Men will bring, the Marvel Studios panel late tonight is sure to have many in attendance. While some major announcements are confirmed regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future, one major attraction so far has been the armory from Tony Stark’s lab within the Iron Man films. And today, Marvel kicked off the big day by wheeling out the latest addition to Stark’s weaponry.
Marvel revealed the Mark VIII suit that will be appearing withinIron Man 3 next May. Unlike the others, this suit looks much less red and has more of a yellow-ish look. ScreenRant thankfully posted some up-close shots, and we’ve added them to the official photo below.
There’s still no confirmation whether or not the suit stems from nanotechnology, as it’s been rumored for months now that the tech would be a large part of the story. The yellow hue does hint that perhaps the suit does come from within Tony’s bones as displayed in the comic, but so far nothing has been revealed. That will likely happen tonight during the Iron Man 3panel.
Along with that panel, Marvel has confirmed they will be revealing what lies beyond Captain America 2. Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to be offiically announced by Marvel Studios, but perhaps the biggest rumor spearheaded in the last 24 hours happens to be the panel will involve Ant-Man somehow. It’s unclear if Marvel will officially announce the film, but there’s been word Edgar Wright’s test-reel may be shown to the crowd. At a screening of one-shot Item 47, one of the Marvel execs told a young fan who asked about Ant-Man to make sure he does not miss the Marvel panel today…leading many to wonder just what is in store.
