SDCC: Legendary Pictures Reveals ‘Godzilla’, First Teaser Poster and Trailer Revealed!

Before San Diego Comic-Con began, we told you that Legendary Pictures was rumored to possibly be bringingGodzilla with them for a special surprise. With the WB/Legendary panel in full swing, there’s been plenty of exciting chatter from inside Hall H this evening and once a roar hit the stage everyone began to cheer with delight. Tonight, Legendary Pictures has in fact revealed the first teaser promos for the upcoming Godzilla reboot, and  the first poster has been unleashed so far.

While Godzilla has yet to even move into production, a teaser trailer was shown that is said to pit Godzilla actually in a real sandbox and will have people reacting as if this kaiju genre were set in the real world. Showing a silhouette of the create in a destroyed city, there’s no word yet when the teaser will make it way online. Some are saying the video could make its way before The Dark Knight Rises next week, but there is no official word just yet.

However, Legendary has decided to definitely put the teaser poster for the film up on their Facebook page tonight. It doesn’t feature more than simply a logo and Japanese writing, but it’s certainly enough to get people excited.

The reboot will be directed by Gareth Edwards, the man at the helm responsible for last year’s sci-fi indie hit Monsters. No word on a production start has yet surfaced, nor a release date.
