SDCC: Full Look at ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ Blu-Ray Set, First Poster for One-Shot ‘Item 47′

With Comic-Con here, it seems like the cherry on top for Marvel Studios after the gigantic success of The Avengers just two months ago. While bringing the superheroes together was just the beginning, Marvel has plans to really end Phase One of the collective Marvel Cinematic Universe with a bang this September as The Avengers comes home on Blu-Ray with both an all-new short and a special collection. That collection has been teased for some time now, and today Marvel has decided to kick of Comic-Con by revealing that the set won’t just continue exclusive features and every MCU film so far, but also your very own glowing Tesseract.

Immerse yourself in every aspect of Marvel’s elite Super Heroes with this limited-edition, 10-disc Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Collection. Complete with glowing Tesseract, this exclusive replica of Nick Fury’s iconic briefcase includes stunning Blu-ray 3D™ and Blu-ray™ presentations of The Avengers; Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor, as well as Blu-ray™ versions of Iron Man; Iron Man 2 and The Incredible Hulk in exclusive collectible packaging.

Plus, now that you possess the highest level of security clearance, you have been granted access to S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most confidential files, including a top-secret bonus disc filled never before seen, classified information. Also featuring exquisitely detailed art, prop reproductions and artifacts from the motion pictures, the must-own Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Collection will verify your status as the world’s greatest authority on the Marvel Super Hero mythos!

Right now, there is no word whether or not you can pre-order the set at Marvel’s Comic-Con booth. The set will available the same day as the regular The Avengers home release on September 25th. We’ve also added the individual cover art below for each disc in the Blu-Ray collection from artist Matthew Ferguson. [MTV]

But, Marvel did pack something else for SDCC attendees. While we know that the short film Item 47, starring Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Bradford, and Titus Welliver will be shown in full at the convention, Marvel has decided to include a special poster for the one-shot as well.

“Directed by Marvel co-president Louis D’Esposito, the premise of Item 47 is that a not-so-ethical young couple (Party Down‘s Lizzy Caplan and Flags of Our Father‘s Jesse Bradford) recover one of the lost alien weapons and figure out how to make it work. Then, of course, they have to figure out what to do with it — and their solution is a life of crime.” [EW]
