This past week, Marvel has sent fans into a speculation hellfire just wondering what their latest teaser-filled marketing has been pointing towards. While the biggest rumors have revolved around Avengers vs. X-Men fallout and The Ultron War, it’s unclear just what the event could be or even if it was a new series possibly headed our way this fall. Now, to go along with the reveal that The Avengers are a prime part of the events unfolding, Marvel has not only revealed the final two teaser images but also what exactly each picture is aiming towards…as one Marvel hero is aiming his sights on the team.

With the reveal of Spidey and Black Widow to finalize the the Avengers’ roster, CBM reports that the “event” in question is actually a re-launch of Punisher War Zone. Marvel supplied a small teaser poster for the reveal that will be happening Comic-Con, which will occur during the Spider-Man panel Sunday July 15th at 12:30PM PST. The big question is perhaps the easiest: why is The Punisher attacking The Avengers? Could it have to do with AvX? Is someone else pulling the strings that causes the heroes to be put in The Punisher’s sights? It’s all incredibly interesting and we’ll bring you more news as the details progress.
