Later this month, Spider-Man will be celebrating a gigantic milestone as the web slinger hits his 50th Anniversary since the first time that radioactive spider bit him during a high school field trip. Since then, the history of the beloved hero has been incredible with some of the most loved and hated moments among fans gaining plenty of attention. With Issue #692, Marvel is hoping to call back to Peter Parker’s origins story by introducing an all-new character who’s fate will change forever. Now, the company has revealed a number of astonishing variant covers to the comic book that will hit shelves on the same day and are likely to be snatched up by die-hard Spidey fans.
In Issue #692, Peter finds himself visited at Horizon Labs by his old high school as he is ready to showcase his newest discovery “Parker Particles”. When one of the fellow jealous scientists disengages the safeties of Peter’s device, the backlash causes one young teenager to be transformed into Alpha: Spider-Man’s very own sidekick!
In addition to the regular cover, artist Marcos Martin designed five variant covers for the issue that each focus on the past of Peter Parker. Starting with the origin-starting spider bite, other covers include one of the most shocking events in comic book history The Death of Gwen Stacy, Peter’s transformation into Venom, the highly dreaded Clone Saga that still remains an incredibly successful story arc for the title, and even The New Avengers.
Amazing Spider-Man #692 is set to hit shelves and digital download on August 22nd.
