In less than two weeks, Breaking Bad will return with its first episode of a 16 hour final order from AMC, effectively beginning the end of the hit drug-centered drama that will wrap up sometime next year. While plenty of promos have offered small sneak peeks at the highly anticipated, most of the upcoming season is still very much shrouded in mystery. Now, the first full scene from the premiere has debuted online today which contains a fallout directly from the events of the season finale, but also keeps the story relatively free of spoilers for anyone who has yet to catch up.
The fifth season will comprise of only eight episodes, with creator Vince Gilligan set to head back into the writers’ room with crew to script the final eight episodes for a production start later this year. From there, the final season will air sometime next year at a date that has yet to be determined by the network. Scottish actress Laura Fraser recently joined the cast as Lydia, a character who is an associate of Gus’ and is said to play a major part in the season ahead.
Breaking Bad premieres Sunday July 15th at 10PM on AMC.
