While last week we gave you the news of numerous cast members returning for the season premiere of Once Upon a Time‘s second season, it’s unclear just who else the hit fairy tale drama will bring back in its sophomore effort. The plot still remains deep under wraps until its September premiere, though a teaser trailer released this weekend did hint that Captain Hook would be playing an antagonist role in the upcoming season. Now, it seems we can expect more of a history between Regina and Snow to be unveiled as one cast member has revealed she’ll be returning for another flashback.
Actress Bailee Madison has confirmed through multiple tweets on her Twitter account that she will be returning as a Young Snow White sometime this season on Once Upon a Time. Madison starred as the child version of the character for only one episode late in the first year of the series in order to shed light on just why Lana Parrilla’s character of Regina hates the adult version in the present timeline. There’s no word on how many episodes she will appear for this time around, but it’s only expected to be another one episode stint for the time being.
When we last left off with Young Snow and Regina, the future Evil Queen had her heart broken after Snow put too much faith in Regina’s evil mother Cora (Barbera Hershey) and revealed that her daughter planned to run off with the love of Regina’s life. That plan was quickly nixed by the evil mother, and Regina was instead forced to marry Snow’s father The King.
If Madison is returning for another flashback episode soon, it seems almost very likely that Hershey and Richard Schiff will return in their flashback-only roles as well. An original casting call for Hershey’s Cora described her role as having a major recurring status in the second season though nothing has been confirmed thus far. But if Madison is in fact returning, it’s pretty much a safe bet the other two guest stars will follow as well.
Once Upon a Time will return Sundays at 8PM this September on ABC.
