Three New Character Spots for HBO’s New Series ‘The Newsroom’

With just under a week until the highly talked about HBO drama The Newsroom debuts, the series from Aaron Sorkin has quickly become one of the highlights of the summer as viewers eagerly await to see if the show will live up to the incredible buzz. While Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, and more have all been showcased, it’s the supporting roles in the massive ensemble that haven’t quite received their spotlight just yet. Now, HBO has released three all-new character promos that highlight the production team with actors Alison Pill, John Gallagher Jr., and Thomas Sadoski as the trio highlights, and there’s even a hint of an office romance in the mix.

From the mind of The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin comes The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston), the series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.

The Newsroom will kick off a ten episode first season on June 24th at 10PM on HBO.
