With the first trailer launching a few weeks ago, The Great Gatsby has certainly turned plenty of heads as fans now have to wait until the Holidays to see the entire romantic drama play out on the big screen. Today, Warner Brothers has released three new images to hopefully tie over those eager for the film for at least a few more weeks. Interestingly enough, one of the photos even has a small easter egg for those who have read the novel as one of the locations within the film hints to a line of dialogue straight from the book.
As HeyUGuys points out, the menu in the photo below that addresses the location as “The Angry Diamond” is a clever treat just for those who have experienced the source material. The third chapter of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book includes the line, “… at intervals she appeared suddenly at his side like an angry diamond, and hissed: ‘You promised!’ into his ear.” Can we expect more small little references such as this throughout the film?
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book of the same name, The Great Gatsby is a romantic drama that revolves around Nick Carraway, a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby and finds himself drawn into his social circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, and more, The Great Gatsby will be released in 3D on December 25th.
