With the big finale over and summer in The Hamptons beginning in real life, Revenge fanatics will have to wait until after Labor Day to return to their favorite soap-drama. After a big return was obviously hinted at in the seaosn’s final moments, creator Mike Kelley also promised that plenty other new roles would also be headed onto the show as well. While the sotry details of the second season are very much up in the air, Kelley has revealed that we’ll have not just some roles of the past to worry about for respective characters, but also a whole new breed of Grayson.
Talking with TV Guide, Kelley revealed that of the new characters we’ll see introduced, we can expect a new puppy to replace the very much missed Sammy, Victoria’s Mother, Conrad’s ex-wife and children, and finally people from the pasts of Amanda, Emily, and Nolan. Kelley hinted during sweeps last month that of those people from the trio’s past, a brother or sister could easily be in the cards for Nolan.
The idea that with Conrad’s kids there will be even more individuals with the name “Grayson”, it’s certainly enough to send shivers down the spines of audiences. Having a puppy may ease the pain that certainly brought a Marley & Me vibe with Sammy, and could represent something deeper in the story of Emily, while to see where Victoria’s sinister stare came from will certainly be something fans are likely to look forward to.
As for Emily’s mother revealed to actually be alive, Kelley reveals that the writers are currently unsure how early into the second season we’ll see the Clarke matriarch. ”There will be a hunt for her, and she won’t be easy to find. She’s been gone, deliberately, for a very long time. Emily is one messed-up girl, and she’s going to find out the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.”
All that’s truly known about the second season so far is that we’ll be under another mystery element as the year will kick off with a flashforward, leaving us to put the pieces of the puzzle together in the coming weeks just as the first season did for 15 episodes. Kelley has said that the next season will get darker, including in Daniel Grayson. But it’s said that of those fates left hanging in the balance, one of them definitely died, while one more person will also meet their maker. Interestingly enough, there will also be a marriage as well, though who exactly the groom and bride will be have yet to be determined.
Revenge will return this September on ABC.
