‘Friends’ To Hit Blu-Ray Later This Year With Exclusive Bonus Features

With Friends now on rotation in multiple syndicated formats, including nationally on Nick @ Nite and TBS, its HD upgrade awhile back certainly spelled out a possible re-release future on home video. With a remastered look and every season now on DVD, it only seemed like a matter of time before the series made it to Blu-Ray. Now, the comedy that is placed firmly in television history has been confirmed for a high-def return later this year, and with extra incentive to make sure that yourFriends lover doesn’t turn down the set.

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has announced thatFriends: The Complete Series will hit Blu-Ray on November 13th of this year, just in time for you to relive every classic Thanksgiving episode before Turkey Day rolls around. All 236 original episodes have been remastered to 1080p in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio wth 5.1 English Dolby Surround audio tracks along 21 Blu-Ray discs. In addition to this, the set will also feature hours of all-new bonus features:

- True Friends retrospective documentaries:
- Friends From the Start
- When Friends Become Family
- Legacy of Friends
- Original producer’s cut for “The One Where Rachel Tells Ross” with introduction by Kevin Bright
- Original script for “The One Where Rachel Tells Ross”
- Friends cast’s 2005 appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno
- Friends cast’s 2004 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show
- The Ones With More Friends: The original extended broadcast episodes
- The One with the Never-Before-Seen Gags never-before-seen blooper reel
- The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There For You” music video



Along with this, the following original bonus features will be included as well:

- Commentaries on thirty-one selected episodes
- Behind-the-scenes featurettes:
- Friends Around the World

The set will come in an all-new packaging that features a hardcover book holding the discs, along with a 31 page episode guide. You can see the cover art for yourself right below. At this time, there is no word on whether or not the season sets will be released individually on Blu-Ray, but there are currently no plans at this time. Though a date is set, WB Home Entertainment has not yet set a price on the collection yet.
