Over the past decade, Robert Zemeckis has stuck with motion capture filmmaking. The Polar Express, Beowulf, and A Christmas Carol have been the only three films since his Oscar winningCast Away in 2000, with the Tom Hanks survival drama being the last live action film he’s done in 12 years. Now, Zemeckis is back in the regular method with Flight, a drama focusing on a heroic pilot saving an entire cabin of passengers from what could have been death. Now, the first trailer for the film has been released, and not only does it feature a hard hitting story that adds plenty of mystery but it also has one hell of a jaw dropping ending.
Flight tells the redemption story of “Whip” (Denzel Washington), a commercial airline pilot who pulls off a heroic feat of flying in a damaged plane, saving 98 lives on a flight carrying 106 people. While the world begs to embrace him as a true American Hero, the everyman struggles with this label as he is forced to hold up to the scrutiny of an investigation that brings into question his behavior the night before the doomed flight.
Starring Washington, Don Cheadle, John Goodman, Bruce Greenwood, and more, Flight hits theaters on November 2nd.
