The last time we saw David O. Russell, not only had he severed his attachment to adapt the video game Uncharted, but his Oscar-winning The Fighter had just come off from winning multiple Academy Awards for its performances. While a sequel to the boxing story may still manifest itself, Russell has been hard at work with The Silver Linings Playbook. Teaming up with an all-star cast, the film deals with plenty of romance, drama, and even great bits of comedy as well to become easily a buzzed about film. Bringing Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence together for their first of two projects, The Weinstein Company has decided today to release the first trailer for the film, and it certainly has plenty of awards potential.
Silver Linings Playbook follows a former teacher (Bradley Cooper) after spending four years in a mental institution, moving back in with his parents and trying to reconcile with his ex-wife, only to find another troubled soul (Jennifer Lawrence) who is just as lost as himself.
Co-starring Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Chris Tucker, John Ortiz and more, The Silver Linings Playbook is set to hit on November 21st.
