First Plot Details for ‘Kick-Ass 2′ Unveil High School Woes & Identites Revealed

Who else will learn Dave’s secret?

With Kick-Ass 2 now a clear and ever present project, it seems like we only have a matter of time before the film comes into fruition. Though getting the cast back together has become an essentially for Universal, it’s just what we can expect from the sequel that has fans intrigued. Now, a new report has surfaced today that allegedly details two big plot points for both the titular superhero and everyone’s favorite pint-sized partner Hit Girl.

Movie Hole says that in the sequel, it seems there will be plenty of unmasking going around:

The movie ventures into ‘someone’s discovered the hero’s identity’ territory with both Dave and Mindy being find out. It adds an exciting, and somewhat amusing twist to proceedings. Dave’s identity as ‘Kick-Ass’ is only really revealed to the one extra person, but it’s someone important. And it has repercussions. Hit-Girl’s identity is also widely known by this point – and it evokes much nasty yabbering behind Mindy’s back by her schoolmates (she’s nicknamed “Captain Muffin-Muncher”). The worst of the mean girls, Brooke, is your typical prissy jock-marrying wannabe who controls the thoughts and feelings of her teenage followers and disciples (including innocent young Lois, whom ultimately forms a bond with Mindy). But ‘Hit-Girl’, never one to shy away from a confrontation and seemingly always equipped with the perfect weapon of self defense, gets Brooke and her bitch gang back in… let’s say, rather spectacular fashion. It involves gadgetry, projectile vomiting and much begging. There will be so much cheering in the cinema!

Now that “extra person”, should the comic be any indication, will likely be Dave’s father. And the “repercussions” mentioned are…well, let’s not give the entire story away. However, the first comic and the film really differed in terms of certain plot elements, so there’s no telling exactly what fans of both the comics and films are in store for. In fact, the entire tale of Mindy described above is absent from the Kick-Ass 2 comic, though it has been said that the film will also adapt part of the upcoming Hit-Girl issues as well.

Ex-director Matthew Vaughn will produce and co-wrote the script with new director Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down). Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz Plasse, and Chloe Moretz are all in talks to return for the sequel, which comic artist John Romita Jr. says is aiming towards a May 2013 release. He also remarked that there would be an animated sequence involved within the film of which he hoped to animate. Lyndsy Fonseca is also in talks to reprise her role of Katie Deauxma, but with her involvement in The CW’s spy thriller Nikita it’s unclear if she will be able to come aboard due to scheduling issues.

Kick-Ass 2 is aiming to begin filming sometime this fall.
