Domain Registrations Suggest That Paramount Is Ready to Make ‘Jackass 4′

Are the pranks returning to the big screen?

The Jackass films, despite being made for a relatively low budget, have grossed millions of dollars worldwide. The third film released in 2010 brought in a worldwide gross that actually equaled the combined box office of the first two films, with 3D a thankful push in the right direction. Although the team lost a member last June, it seems Paramount still wants to bring the boys back together at whatever cost. Now, a recent number of domain registrations have led to the reveal today that the studio is possibly developing a fourth film.

What Culture reports that Paramount has registered the following domains online, leading some to believe that the studio is creating a fourth film titled Jackass 4: Bad Grandpa:

badgrampa-movie.com
badgrampa.com
badgrampamovie.com
badgrandpa-movie.com
jackass4badgrampa.com
jackass4badgrampamovie.com
jackass4badgrandpa.com
jackass4badgrandpamovie.com
jackass4movie.com
jackassbadgrampa.com
jackassbadgrampamovie.com
jackassbadgrandpa.com
jackassbadgrandpamovie.com

It should be noted that the film is only rumor at this point and is NOT guaranteed to happen. Studios pick up various domain names all the time in order to protect their franchises and properties. Although, the domains above are very specific…

If the registration titles above point to anything, it seems the sequel could very much focus on Johnny Knoxville’s Bad Grampa character that he has portrayed in past pranks under heavy prothestic make up. The URL “Jackass 4 Movie” is still in there however, leaving the hope that the entire gang could reunite once more, but it seems ultimately unlikely. With the sudden death of Ryan Dunn, it’s clear that the Jackass crew is not whole, and some members may not want to do a film without Dunn.

Then again, how would a “Bad Grandpa” movie work? Jackasshas always been about changing up stunts and pranks between the various members, and the title certainly suggests that a fourth film would be rooted around Knoxville’s character. Would we see Knoxville in makeup for an hour and a half doing different stunts without his cohorts? Or is the title simply a formality? There are certainly many of questions right now that these domain registrations bring up that also present plenty of skepticism as well.

We’ll bring you more information on the alleged sequel as information develops. Until then, here is the Bad Grandpa skit from Jackass Number Two:
