UPFRONTS: First Details for ‘Glee’ Season 4 Puts Sarah Jessica Parker & Kate Hudson as Guests

Gleeks are still reeling from the news that their favorite series will be moving from the early Tuesday timeslot to a more competitive time later in the week. With graduation coming up, the series future for their characters are certainly up in the air after the season finale. Though the show has tackled what the future may hold each of the high schoolers, we don’t quite have an answer as to what that means for the series in general. Now, the network has revealed just a few details in what’s to come this fall, along with two big names who will be popping their heads up in the next season.

FOX has announced via a conference call this morning the first details from Glee‘s fourth season. Interestingly enough, the series will continue by going back and forth: not only will we be introduced to new characters in Ohio, but the series will also follow some of the graduated kids to New York for a “show within a show” format that will likely follow Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele), along with most likely Finn (Cory Monteith) as well.

Although details about their characters will be announced at a later day, FOX also revealed that Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson would be starring on the hit musical drama as well. Parker’s stint is only for one episode, yet it will mark her first time to return to television since the conclusion of Sex and the City. Hudson’s, however, will be a more substantial arc that lasts six-episodes long, but Fox President Kevin Reilly says the arc may last up to seven or eight.

FOX announced this morning that Glee will be riding The X Factor results show coat tails with a new night and time Thursdays at 9PM.
