Two New Promo Images for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ with Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone

With the final trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man now out the door and impressing audiences before The Avengers, it seems the marketing may have finally paid off after all for the upcoming reboot. While some still remain uncertain, the record box office total for the superhero team-up likely guarantees that more than a fair share of people were able to get their Spidey fix before the show. Now, two new promo images showcasing the two leads have been released, and shows them very much surrounded by webbing.

I don’t know what it is about these specific photos, but I really like them. Stone’s Gwen seems just a bit out of character, as it looks like a typical photoshoot shoot that centers on the actress, but Garfield’s brooding Peter Parker is still alive and well. But, with the webs around them, these are just promo pictures that I absolutely love. While they likely won’t be featured anywhere else, they damn sure look great in those couple of instances.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Martin Sheen) and Aunt May (Sally Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3rd.
