It’s been about a month since production started on the biography drama Hitchcock, which see Anthony Hopkins portraying the titular role as he undergoes one of his most acclaimed films ever made. But since then, we haven’t received much of an update. The film has been off shooting, trying to aim for an undetermined release, and the feature’s progess have been rather quiet. Now, we have our first look at the two female leads of Hitchcock’s project within the film, and they certainly appear to be capturing the look of the original stars.
The photos from the Daily Mail give us our first looks at Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh and Jessica Biel as Vera Miles, both key actresses to Hitchcock’s Psycho. Johansson is completely in character, while Biel is simply in hair and makeup as she makes her way off the set.
The film explores the behind the scenes making of arguably Hitchcock’s greatest film, while also focusing on the famous director’s lackluster marriage to Alma Reville (Helen Mirren), and also telling a small portion of his life as he makes the film would go on to become an iconic piece of movie history.
Joining them, Toni Collette plays Hitchcock’s assistant Peggy Robertson, Danny Huston as a friend of Alma’s, Ralph Macchio as screenwriter of Psycho Joe Stefano, Michael Wincott as serial killer Ed Gein (who Psycho is based off of), and more. Director Sacha Gervasi is at the helm, with a script based on the Stephen Revello book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho.
No release date has yet been revealed.
