After the rumor yesterday that The Amazing Spider-Man may clock in pretty short, it seems we need a palette cleanser to get the possible bad news off of our minds. While it seems very unlikely that the reboot will be obnoxiously fast, Marvel is continuing forward with their marketing push, and has released all new photos of the webslinger. Except this time, it seems he looks in a bit of trouble.

Teenaged social outcast Peter Parker spends his days trying to unravel the mystery of his own past and winning the heart of his high school crush, Gwen Stacy. Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase belonging to his father, who abandoned him when he was a child, which leads him to his dad’s former partner, Dr. Connors. The discovery of his father’s secret will ultimately shape his destiny of becoming “Spider-Man” and brings him face to face with Connors’ villainous alter ego, the Lizard.

The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field, opens on July 3rd.
