First Poster for HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’

With only a few trailers, and yet some incredible talent behind the scenes, HBO’s upcoming new series The Newsroom has gained plenty of attention. Perhaps the most anticipated series premiere since Game of Thrones, the upcoming drama has plenty of promise with such very little marketing so far. Now, HBO has released the first poster for the show as well which again proves how a picture is worth a thousand words.

The poster is very minamalist with a tounge in cheek tagline to boot, along with showcasing the very impressive cast as well. As the trailers have shown us, we’ll be in the head of Jeff Daniels’ character Will alot, and this poster certainly reflects that. With Will shown in deep thought, and the tagline obviously showing the character will grow past his very public backlash shown in the first trailer, with hopefully even more depth as the anticipated series begins to form.

From the mind of The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin comes The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston), the series tracks their quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles-not to mention their own personal entanglements.

The Newsroom will kick off a ten episode first season on June 24th at 10PM on HBO.
