Earlier this morning, we had the new international trailer forThe Amazing Spider-Man, which showed off a few new glimpses at the upcoming web slinger’s latest adventure. Now, Columbia Pictures has released an all-new poster for the film, moving us past the initial teaser poster that featured a very shadowy Peter Parker. We get the hero in his red and blue suit this time around, but also it seems he may be in a bit of trouble.
Russian fan site Stark Industries (via The Film Stage) and Yahoo! Movies debuted the following posters. While the first poster carries over the eye-reflection that Spider-Man fans have come to know and love (which was also absent from Spider-Man 3 marketing), I can’t help but feel that this looks like a cover to an upcomingSpider-Man title from developer Beenox. It looks very reminiscent to that of what we’d see for Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and it lacks that yellow hue we’ve been seeing in Spider-Man’s eyes in photos before.
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker, an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’s alter ego The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
Directed by Marc Webb, the movie stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Dennis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, and more, The Amazing Spider-Man premieres in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on July 3rd.
