Trailer for ‘Take This Waltz’ with Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen

Seth Rogen has been in quite the dramatic route lately, most recently with 50/50. Though being a great comedic voice, the film fit the genre quite nicely, and Rogen played a decent hand in that as well. Now, he’s continuing the dramatic turn withTake This Waltz, a film that focuses on marriage troubles with Michelle Williams as the main character, who is also Rogen’s wife. While it’s unclear just how great it may be, it has a quirkiness to it that certainly seems intriguing.

Sarah Polley returns with her directorial sophomore effort Take This Waltz. Michelle Williams stars as Margot, who finds her happy marriage to Lou (Seth Rogen) thrown into question when she develops an irresistible attraction to a handsome neighbor (Luke Kirby).

While it does look like it could veer into a cliche, especially with Rogen’s character possibly becoming the asshole of the picture, it’s Williams portrayal of a woman that feels lost from the get-go that for some reason draws you in. It’s not likely to be a gigantic comedy, but it seems like it could be a low-key surprise.

Premiering last year at TIFF, with some small awards wins for Williams, the film will hit wide release sometime this June.
