Up until late last year, Skyfall was simply called Bond 23. Following a massive press conference, tons of set photos, production, and more, the next James Bond adventure is nearly complete, with plenty of still, behind the scenes videos, and other material already surfaced. Now, CinemaCon continues forth as Sony Pictures has not only set just when we’ll be seeing the teaser trailer for Skyfall, but also when we’ll be seeing the next James Bond film after that.
Last night, Sony Pictures revealed that the teaser trailer forSkyfall will be attached and premiere with Men in Black III, which comes out this Memorial Day. Those who attended the con got to see the trailer early, with many calling it a dark and gritty direction for James Bond, which seemed to be an early praise. Though there’s plenty of quick-shots, just as a teaser trailer would have, many are calling it quite a thrill ride for just the first look.
Before the screening Sony’s President of Worldwide Distribution Rory Bruer talked about their upcoming slate of films that the studio has planned. As ComingSoon reports, Bruer revealed that Bond 24 (which is simply just a codename for now) is aiming to hit theaters in 2014.
The 2014 release doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as back in December it was reported that Daniel Craig was to be offered five more Bond films after Michael G. Wilson claimed he’d like Daniel to break previous Bond actor Roger Moore’s seven film record of playing the super spy. Wilson has said that he’ll be speaking with Craig following Skyfall‘s wrap, so it seems like its only a matter of time for now.
In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Directed by Sam Mendes and starring Craig, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Berenice Marlohe, Naoie Harris, Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, and more, Skyfall hits theaters on November 9th.
