Know as the Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright have been working on the final film The World’s End for just a few months now. What started nearly a decade ago with Shaun of the Dead and then continued into Hot Fuzz, the action-packed comedies have gained a worldwide audience that many can’t wait for the next film of. Now, Pegg has updated the status of the project, showing the film is in fact near completion.
Despite his working on Star Trek 2, Pegg tweeted out the message this afternoon, “I know we took our sweet time but as soon as I get back from outer space, we can finish this thing once and for all.” He then attached the following picture:

Dated February 5th, it’s a big development to know the script is almost finalized. Nick Frost, the third member of the trio, has said the film could shoot by the end of the year, but we must not forget the fact that Wright also has Ant-Man in development over at Marvel. Production President Kevin Feige had seemed very ambitious to bring Wright aboard into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that could eventually gain some traction later this year. Wright was also shooting something secret that he has yet to disclose, meaning it could become another project for the director.
2014 has always been said as the likliest date for when the film will be released, and it still remains as such. But, the stars could indeed align, and perhaps the film will be working its way towards principal photography by the end of the year.
