New ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer Set To Premiere with ‘The Avengers’

Batman among the Marvel superstars?

Competition between Marvel and DC has always been one that divides fans, and yet unites them when it comes to audiences in theaters. With both having gigantic superhero blockbusters coming this summer, the true fight for the box office kicks off in less than two weeks time. However, DC and Warner Brothers have proved they’re not incompetent, devising a smart way to keep The Dark Knight Rises relevant as the Marvel heroes team-up.

Nolan Fans have unveiled that the third (and possibly final) trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will air in front of The Avengerson May 4th. The information was uncovered using a Warner Brothers Exhibitor site, and is said to play in front of 2D, IMAX, 3D, and IMAX 3D showings, effectively covering all bases.

This isn’t the first time Warner Brothers has stuck a Nolan trailer in front of the mega Marvel movies. The third trailer forThe Dark Knight debuted with Iron Man four years ago, while the final trailer for Inception also played in front of Iron Man 2just two years later.

It’s unclear just what the trailer will reveal, but it’s expected that it will showcase at least more of the film’s story, which has remained a large mystery up until now. Of course, we’re sure to see more of Bane, Catwoman, and hopefully some more characters only touch upon in the last trailer, such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s police officer character and Marion Cotillard’s Miranda Tate, which many still believe to be the grown-up version of Talia Al Ghul.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th.
