New Poster for ‘Brave’

Before it’s current title, many seem to forget that Brave was actually titled The Bear and the Bow, when it was initially announced four years ago. Since then, it’s had plenty of changes, including the voice of heroine Merida. Now, the first Pixar fairy tale is on the verge of release with just a couple of months to go, and the marketing has been increasing with it. Originally released as a Japanese poster, an all-new one sheet has been revealed for the upcoming animated adventure.

Now here, the bear plot line is very much hinted at, as the mist above Merida forms into the shape of the creature. We’ve even seen the bear in the teaser trailer for the film, but was notably absent from the full-length outing. A new trailer is set to drop sometime this week, as it premiered during screenings ofTitanic 3D this past weekend, and hopefully it will shed some more light on the storyline.

In Scotland, stories of battles and legends have been passed through generations. Merida (Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), is determined to carve her own path in life. Merida ignores an age-old custom sacred to lords MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). However, Merida inadvertently causes chaos and fury in the kingdom. When she turns to the Wise Woman (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish and must discover the meaning of true bravery.

Brave opens in theaters on June 22nd.
