It’s the moment HIMYM fans have been waiting for: the birth of Marshall and Lily’s first child. The season premiere showed the gang united in a moment that had them realizing their group would be growing by one. However since then, the gang has very much become divided. Ted and Robin have had a falling out, and even both a moving out, Barney has found love elsewhere, while Marshall and Lily have moved back in to the old apartment. Now, the first photos for the season finale have been revealed, and show that first glimpse at the new bundle of joy.

While we won’t show you all the photos for “The Magician’s Code”, which is a one-hour season finale airing on May 14th, we will show you this particular one:

Basically everyone’s misty-eyed, and surely some fans will be as well. There’s no clear indication as to what the baby’s name is just yet, but other photos do reveal a possible candidate. If fans remember, the season premiere featured a flashforward that had Barney and Marshall in Atlantic City, with Barney wearing what is now the infamous “Ducky Tie”, and Marshall wearing a shirt while gambling that says “Marshall + Stephanie 4-Eva”. Could this newborn be in fact Stephanie?

Furthermore, just how does Barney end up with the Ducky Tie again? In a popular move, Barney traded three slaps to remove the tie, which saw him wearing the ugly piece of clothing for a year. So, does he put it on in a fit of good gesture, or is he somehow duped into putting it back on?

Lily’s birth will take importance in the first half of the season finale, while the second half sees Barney’s girlfriend Quinn (Becki Newton) returning for one more outing. Now, it will be revealed the identity of Barney’s bride in the not-so-far-off future, and it’s been previously revealed that Barney will be seeking to propose to Quinn. Will she be the one walking down the aisle?
