Though Marvel has been showcasing their troupe of heroes all this month, DC Comics is quietly waiting in the wings so the Bat can truly begin to take over. Though already one of the highest anticipated movies of the year, The Dark Knight Riseshas yet to launch it’s full on marketing campaign just as its rival has over the past month or so. While we have yet to see that, there have been some newly released promotional images that won’t make it to posters or billboards, but certainly are a sight to see.

During CinemaCon this week, Warner Brothers screened an extended trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, which has plenty of people buzzing. Some critics who have already seen The Avengers are even going as far as to claiming the The Dark Knight Rises still takes top spot, which is surprising given the amount of praise for The Avengers already. I guess the box office will decide that as the first of the two hits theaters next week.

Starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Freeman, Gordon-Levitt, Nestor Carbonell, Liam Neeson, Marion Cotillard, Joey King, and directed by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight Rises ascends into theaters on July 20th.
