Cover Art, Story Details, and More Revealed for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Game

While it’s unclear just how The Amazing Spider-Man movie will turn out, many are excited for the upcoming game that will be based off of the film. If the development team of Beenox wasn’t impressive enough, especially considering this isn’t the same team that made the last not-so-well-received game of the wall crawler, the prospects of another open-world Spider-Man game only furthers the excitement. Now, Activision has released the cover art for the upcoming game, along with a little story details, and a special feature for the PS3 version of the title.

MTV reports that Kevin Seamus Fahey wrote the game’s script, which will look tell more of that “untold story” we keep hearing about due to the film’s marketing. Fahey co-wrote theBattlestar Galactica webisodes The Face of the Enemy, along with one episode of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. How exactly he’ll do with an 8+ hour story that has Spidey swinging around New York is really a questionable aspect, but seeing how he’s definitely a writer of action, it’ll be interesting to see how it pulls off.

The story is most likely to dip into the Ultimate Comics side of things, while Playstation 3 fans will get an entirely new experience. It’s unclear to what extent, but PS3 gamers will be able to use their Playstation Move within the game somehow. Whether it will be to kick some but, swing around, or something else is completely in the dark, but there will be some kind of motion controls involved.

The Amazing Spider-Man hits shelves a week before the movie on June 26th, for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and 3DS.
