With The Hunger Games out this weekend, Stephenie Meyer’s hit adaptation The Twilight Saga will be sharing some of the spotlight as the first trailer for the final film Breaking Dawn Part Two hits theaters along with it. However, where one movie ends a series, another hopefully begins. The Host, which adds a sci-fi alien plot to the romance, is another adaptation of Meyer’s set to come next year. Now, we have the first trailer for the film, which teases the alien storyline:

Unfortunately, the film still has over a year until it is released. And while it seems the movie could begin a trilogy of films, Meyer still hasn’t written a sequel. She’s had sequel novels outlined, but it’s unclear if the author will ever get around to penning them. Another bet could be that she shows the studio these outlines, and two new films are added to The Host. However, the first film will have to incredible well.

But, the book has an impressive fanbase, just like The Hunger Games and Twilight, so it seems The Host could be the next big series to light up the big screen.

The Host, starring Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, William Hurt, Diane Kruger, and directed by Andrew Niccol, will hit theaters on March 29th, 2013.
