With just a mere 17 days until the release of The Hunger Games, the excitement in the air is electric. The pre-sales for tickets are already breaking records, and The Lorax has set a challenge for the film, as the animated adventure has opened as the biggest weekend of the year. Now, Ellen premiered an exclusive clip of the film during today’s show, and Lionsgate has now released that video in HD for all to see. Want to see the beginnings of Katniss and stylist Cinna? This is really the first true look we’re getting at Kravitz portraying of Cinna, especially in his mannerisms, speech, and overall performance. For how short it is, and how fast the scene certainly moves, it’s damn good. There’s not too much of an emotion behind it, but perhaps that’s because it’s not a time to be emotional. Katniss has been thrust in this cold world of government, and Cinna is trying to form an impression of himself onto her, to prove that he’s not like them.

Not to mention, our heroine’s guard is still very much up, as she’s just ventured into this new world she’s never experienced up close before. So, it’s certainly a relationship that develops over the course of the film, and this beginning is getting through the rough patch until the two can actually trust each other.

The Hunger Games hits theaters on March 23rd.
